MISENHEIMER, N.C. - In a game that meant nothing in the Conference Carolinas standings, the Pfeiffer Falcons (19-23) dropped their second straight game in the 2017 season series to the NAIA Saint Andrews Knights (21-27) on Tuesday evening at Joe Ferebee Field by the score of 8-6.

After Knight Mark Perkins connected with a second inning solo home run, the Knights put a five spot up on Falcon starter Brodrick Rierson in the third inning. Saint Andrews added two runs on a wild pitch and fielder's choice but Justin Williams added an RBI single to right field and then Mark Perkins hit on his second homer in as many innings.

With the Falcons down 6-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Zach Scudder hit his tenth homerun of the season.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Falcons added two more runs on home runs from Derek Perry and Scudder's second of the game.

The Falcons rallied in the ninth and picked up three runs on a bases loaded walk from Perry and then the Knights tried to turn a double play but a throwing error by the second baseman Mikey Morgan allowed in two more Pfeiffer base runners.

Knights reliever Zack Saylor secured the win as he got Scudder swinging to end the game.

Cameron Reid, Jordan Toney, and Drew Wilson pitched four scoreless innings in relief for the Falcons.

Pfeiffer returns to action with a weekend match-up against the King Tornado starting on Friday at 6 p.m.
