Falcons Fall To Avenging Angels On The Road In Three Sets

RALEIGH, N.C. – On Wednesday evening, the Pfeiffer volleyball team (0-7) fell in three sets to the Meredith Avenging Angels (2-8) as Bri Weber and Erin Errington led the Falcons with four kills apiece.

In set two is where the Falcons had their most success of the night. The Avenging Angels jumped out to a 5-1 lead and then Errington came back with a kill followed up by Kaylee Freed's service ace to cut the lead to two.  Later in the set,  with the score of the 19-11, the Falcons picked up two consecutive points from a ball handling error by Angels setter Katie Keen and then a service ace by Errington. The Falcons were unable to take the lead in the set as Meredith won 25-17.

Freshman Emma Gray Beacham had a match-high eight digs for Pfeiffer and  Errington had seven.

Meredith's Caroline Corey led the match with seven kills while teammates Hannah Blaylock and Alex Halfliger had five.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they travel to Raleigh in a tri-match to face Greensboro College at 12 pm and Mary Baldwin at 2 p.m.
