Pfeiffer Women's Swimming Claims Dual Wins Over UNC Pembroke and Sweet Briar
Misenheimer, N.C. – The Pfeiffer women's swimming team claimed a pair of dual meets over UNC Pembroke and Sweet Briar College on Saturday at the Merner Gym pool.
The Falcons captured a 110-88 win over UNC Pembroke, then dominated in a 161-26 win over Sweet Briar.
Tiffany Bartholomew (Raleigh, N.C.) had a fantastic meet, winning three events. She captured the 50-yard freestyle with a 26.47, the 100-yard freestyle with a 59.65 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:50.28.
Teammate Gina Myers (Yadkinville, N.C.) won two events in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. In the 100, Myers posted a 2:11.46 and in the 100-yard butterfly she returned a 1:10.04.
Pfeiffer also won the 400-yard medley relay, with the team of Natalia Gutierrez (St. Cloud, Fla.), Mary Rhyne (Lexington, N.C.), Samira Wolf (Pocasset, Mass.), and Ada McClendon (Kingwood, Texas) posting a 4:51.27.
Pfeiffer also had four other podium finishes, with Jordan Petschelt (Gilbertsville, Pa.) claiming second in the 1000-yard freestyle, Gutierrez second in the 200-yard backstroke, Myers second in the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard relay team of Gregory, Petschelt, Gutierrez and Elizabeth Palmquist (Southport, N.C.) also finishing in second place.
