Box Score 2 Pfeiffer Softball Splits Doubleheader at Greensboro
Greensboro, N.C. (March 23, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University softball team split a Saturday USA South road doubleheader with Greensboro College at Latham Park on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS – Game 1
The visiting Falcons stranded six runners and failed to score for the first time this season, as Greensboro took a 2-0 win.
Greensboro plated a run in the fourth and another in the sixth. Pfeiffer would threaten in the seventh, getting the potential tying run on second base with two outs, but Greensboro forced a fly out to right field to end the game.
THE BASICS – Game 2
The Falcon offense got cranked up in the first, as Kari Westerbeek smashed a two-run home run to put the Falcons up 4-0. Kiana Millsaps also had an RBI single in the inning and Vada Blue Sherrill scored on a error.
In the third Reece Davis delivered an RBI single, plating Makenzie Pennell, who reached by a leadoff single.
Pfeiffer would add two more in the fourth on a RBI double from Sherrill and a Hannah Tyner single, which allowed Sherrill to score to push the lead to 7-0.
The lead ballooned to 9-0 in the sixth inning when Sherrill knocked a two-run homer to left-center.
Pfeiffer pitcher Kiana Millsaps recorded the win, shutting down the Pride in the sixth to earn the doubleheader split.

The Falcons will stay on the road for a doubleheader at Mary Baldwin University on Sunday, March 24. First pitch is scheduled for Noon in Staunton, Va.
