Pfeiffer Softball Romps Over MBU

Staunton, Va. (March 24, 2019) –The Pfeiffer University softball team scored 30 combined runs in sweeping a road USA South doubleheader over Mary Baldwin University by scores of 11-3 and 19-5.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer used four home runs, one each from Vada Blue Sherrill, Makenzie Pennell, Kari Westerbeek and Sarah Brown to down MBU 11-3 in game one.  Sherrill, Pennell and Westerbeek each finished with two RBI each while Brown, Alexis Walter, Maranda Benton and Hannah Tyner each had one.

Kiana Millsaps earned the pitching win, improving to 14-2 on the season.  She allowed just three hits, one run and struck out three in 4.0 innings of work.

In game two, the Sherrill, Tyner, Pennell, and Brown hit another home run each in helping the Falcons to a 19-5 win.

Millsaps again got the win, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just two hits and allowing just one run.

The Falcons will return home to take on Methodist on Wednesday, March 27 in a USA South doubleheader at 2:00 p.m.
