Huntingdon Takes 18-7 Win Over Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse

Montgomery, Ala. (April 6, 2019) –  Huntingdon Colleg jjumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter and used a seven-goal second quarter en route to an 18-7 USA South win on Saturday in Montgomery, Ala.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Pfeiffer junior Jared Nelson scored two goals and had three assists to lead the Falcons.  Senior teammates John Allen and Ben Zahorec each scored a pair of goals while Treven King added a goal to round out the Falcon scoring. 

Jacob Leone had a pair of assists while Kyle Fabrizio had one assist for the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Huntingdon jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before John Allen put the Falcons on the board at the 4:24 mark of the first quarter on a feed from Kyle Fabrizio.  The Hawks added another goal 23 seconds before the end of the quarter to take the 4-1 lead after one.

Jared Nelson and John Allen provided Pfeiffer goals to start the second quarter, drawing the game to a 3-3 deadlock, but Huntingdon then went on a streak of seven straight goals to take the 10-3 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Hawks' first goal came playing a man down at the 11:42 mark.  Another Huntingdon goal made it 12-3 at the 7:35 mark.  Pfeiffer then closed the quarter with a goal with two goals inside the final two minutes, with Ben Zahorec scoring both goals, the latter with just one second left in the quarter, trimming the Huntingdon lead to 12-5.

Huntingdon then took control in the fourth, scoring the first six goals to take the 18-5 lead.  Pfeiffer would get goals from Nelson and Treven King to cap the scoring, providing the 18-7 final.
