Two Score Career-High's in Men's Basketball Blowout Win at Greensboro

Greensboro, N.C. (Jan. 30, 2020) – Visiting Pfeiffer University had six players score in double figures, shot a robust 53.1% from the field and was perfect from the free throw line in a 113-79 USA South road win at Greensboro College on Wednesday night.

The Falcons held Greensboro to just 35.4% shooting from the field on the night.  Pfeiffer held the 56-45 lead at halftime and surged ahead in the second half, building their lead to 87-63 after a D.J. Brasher (Burlington, N.C.) layup with 11:07 to play.

A Taylan Rowe (Oakboro, N.C.) layup boosted the Falcon lead to 91-67 with 9:00 to play while another Brasher basket put Pfeiffer up 93-67 at 7:11.

Greensboro would get no closer 25 points the rest of the way, with the Falcons ultimately taking the 113-79 win.

The 34-point win is the largest of the season for the Falcons and is the largest road win since February, 17, 2018 when Pfeiffer won by 56 points (132-76) at N.C. Wesleyan.

Craig Sabb (Goose Creek, S.C.) led the way with 21 points for Pfeiffer while fellow junior teammate Tyjarek Simmons (Roanoke Rapids, N.C.) had 16 points while going 7-of-12 from the field.  Rowe would finish with 13 points for Pfeiffer, as he knocked down three from beyond the arc.

A pair of Falcon freshmen secured career-highs in the win with freshman Regin Larson (Charlotte, N.C.) scoring 15 points while hitting three from long-range.  He also had three steals and a career-best five rebounds.  Jordan Byrd (Mebane, N.C.) also had a career-night, scoring 16 points and controlling 12 rebounds, posting his first career double-double.

Junior Juwan Blanton (Forest City, N.C.) scored 12 points and was perfect from the line while Brasher was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field in scoring eight points,
 
As a team, Pfeiffer was a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line, setting new school record for efficiency at the line with a minimum of 15 attempts.

The 34-point win is the largest of the season for the Falcons and is the largest road win since February, 17, 2018 when Pfeiffer won by 56 points (132-76) at N.C. Wesleyan.
