Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Splits Matches With Mars Hill and Brevard
Brevard, N.C. (Oct. 11, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team split a pair of dual team matches on Sunday afternoon, defeating Brevard, 6-3 and falling to Mars Hill by a 9-0 score at the McKoy Tennis Complex on the campus of Brevard College.
THE BASICS – Pfeiffer vs. Mars Hill
Mars Hill swept the Falcons 9-0, winning all six singles matches and all three doubles matches. In the doubles matches, the duo of
Andres Valdez-Arce (Bogota, Bolivia) and
Aleix Garrido (Catalunya, Spain) fell at No. 2 by an 8-4 score, as did the No. 1 team of
Dylan Masters (Mooresville, N.C.) and
Benedikt Pfeiffer (Schliersee, Germany).
In singles play
Alec Taylor (Mooresville, N.C). was competitive in his match at No. 2, falling to Youssef Ardouni, by a 6-3, 6-3 count.
THE BASICS - Pfeiffer vs. Brevard
The Falcons rebounded from the loss to MHU with a convincing 8-1 win over host Brevard.
Pfeiffer won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to take the win.

Dylan Masters,
Justin Giesbrecht (Seminole, Texas), and
Clay Patton (Lubbock, Texas) were among the singles winners against the Tornados.
NEXT UP
Pfeiffer has concluded the fall portion of their schedule and will return to action in the spring of 2022. The Falcons will take part in an exhibition match on Feb. 8 against Belmont Abbey at the Knapp Tennis Center. Pfeiffer will open the spring season with a Feb. 20 match at home against Randolph College.
