Box Score Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Runs Streak to Four with 18-8 Win Over Methodist
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 22, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team won their fourth straight game with an 18-8 USA South win over Methodist University on Sunday afternoon at Lefko Field

HOW IT HAPPENED
The two teams traded goals in the first quarter, with Pfeiffer opening the scoring at 13:58 with an unassisted goal from senior Jared Nelson. After Methodist scored on a man-up opportunity, Nelson fed John Allen for the 2-1 lead at 2:28. Methodist capped the first quarter scoring with an unassisted tally from Hunter Vaughan.
Pfeiffer took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Monarchs 4-1 with goals from Trevin King, Allen, and two from Quinn Becraft, putting the Falcons ahead 6-3 at halftime.
Pfeiffer would open the third quarter with three goals, with Becraft scoring the first two and Nelson adding the third goal to stake the Falcons to the 9-3 lead. Methodist scored at 5:57 before Becraft scored with 1:05 left in the quarter to make it 10-4.
Methodist made it 10-5 on a Carter Favreau unassisted goal at 13:15 of the fourth quarter, but Pfeiffer erupted for the next five goals to take a commanding 15-5 lead. During that five-goal stretch, King scored once, as did Allen. Becraft would continue his hot play, scoring three more during the span.
Allen would make it 16-6 on an assist from Luke Cod at 5:29 and after a Methodist goal at 4:59, Pfeiffer's Peter Donahue scored back-to-back goals with both being assisted by Allen to cap the Pfeiffer scoring. Methodist would score the final goal of the game at 3:08 to provide the 18-8 final.
Inside the Box Score
All told, Becraft finished with a team-high eight goals and one assist while Nelson had nine assists and two goals. Allen added to his program best mark in goals scored by notching four to go along with a pair of assists.
Tucker Hill also had a great afternoon, going 19-of-25 on face offs while scooping up 16 ground balls.
Matt Stocks earned the win in goal for Pfeiffer, making eight saves and controlling eight ground balls.
