Box Score Falcons Use Big First Quarter in Men's Lacrosse Win Over Greensboro
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 14, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team scored 10 first-quarter goals en route to an 18-8 home win over Greensboro College on Wednesday afternoon at Lefko Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons wasted little time, as Quinn Becraft opened the scoring at 14:21 on an unassisted goal. Tucker Hill then took the ensuing faceoff and scored five seconds later at 14:16 to make it 2-0. Becraft and Jacob Leone scored unassisted goals at 13:27 and 8:10, respectively to push the lead to 4-0.
Senior Jared Nelson finally got on the board with a goal at 5:34 followed by a Becraft goal and John Allen unassisted tally that made it 7-0.
Becraft scored two more goals by the end of the quarter and Allen added the 10th Pfeiffer goal with just seven seconds remaining in the quarter.
Greensboro got on the board early in the second quarter to make it 10-1 but Nelson responded with a goal at 7:31 to make it 11-1.
After Pfeiffer lead 12-3 at the half, Greensboro scored a man-down goal at 13:11 of the third quarter to make it 12=4. The two teams then traded goals on man-up opportunities, the first for Pfeiffer on a Becraft goal, followed by a Greensboro goal from Spencer Kontoulas to make it 13-5.
Greensboro closed to 14-6 on a William Beyer goal at 7:42 in the third, but Corey Choberka gave Pfeiffer the 15-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the final frame, Pfeiffer got goals from Allen and Luke Cox to push the lead to 17-7. Greensboro's Gage Kelly scored their final goal at 5:25 to go to 17-8 while Allen notched the final goal of the afternoon for Pfeiffer to provide the 18-8 final.
Becraft lead the way for Pfeiffer with six goals while Allen finished with five. Senior Jared Nelson had a team-best eight assists on the afternoon to go along with a pair of goals. Jacob Leone and Treven King also had assists, with Leone dishing two and King providing one helper.
All told, Pfeiffer won their seventh consecutive game and has assured the top seed in the USA South East Division.
