INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Brevard earned a penalty kick in the 17th minute and Sam O'Callaghan made true on the attempt, beating Pfeiffer goalkeeper Ali Jaafar (Matthews, N.C.) to his right, just out of his reach, to make it 1-0.

With under 10 seconds in the first half, Pfeiffer pushed the ball up field and were able to get into the Tornados' box when freshman K.J. Ward was tackled from behind with 1.9 seconds remaining, earning a penalty kick.

Falcon veteran Caleb Bratager (Wake Forest, N.C.) would take the kick, but sent the attempt well over the crossbar.

Pfeiffer's first chance to tie the match in the second half came in the 60th minute when the Falcons caught Brevard goalkeeper Thiago Leopardi out of position on the left side of the box.  A pass made it to Pfeiffer's Nick Ruscetti (Wilmington, N.C.) and he unleased a shot on goal that was saved by a Tornados' defender.

Still trailing 1-0 well into the second half, Pfeiffer once again had a chance to tie the match, this time in the 71st minute, Bratager's shot was corralled by the Brevard goalkeeper.

Pfeiffer senior Cristyan Cabrera (Salisbury, N.C.) also had a great look on goal in the 82nd minute, but his shot sailed over the crossbar as well.

Jaafar was able to register three saves on the night in goal.

All told, Pfeiffer outshot Brevard 8-7 and had a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.
