Pfeiffer Women's Swimming Splits Dual Meets With William Peace & Columbia
Cary, N.C. (Jan. 23, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's swimming team split a pair of dual meets, falling to host William Peace University, 117-46 and winning over Columbia College 62-60 on Saturday in Cary N.C. at the Triangle Aquatics Center.
The Falcons, competing for the first time in the 2022 calendar year, came away with six podium finishes in the double-dual meet.
The highlight of the meet was the first-place finish of
Nyah Hines (Randallstown, Md.) in the 100-yard backstroke. Hines clocked a time of 1:12.92 which placed her ahead of the 2
nd place swimmer from William Peace. Her time was also a collegiate best.
Samira Wolf (Pocassett, Mass.) and Hines captured second and third place, respectively in the 200-yard individual medley. Wolf managed a 2:34.15 while Hines finished in 2:46.69.
Wolf also finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a 1:07.77.
Kara Robertson (Cookeville, Tenn.) also managed a podium finish in the 100-yard butterfly, claiming second place with a 1:15.87
Pfeiffer also claimed second place in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Hines, Robertson, Wolf and
Madison Lynthacum (Mt. Gilead, N.C.) finishing with a 2:12.46, just a half-second out of first place.
