Pfeiffer Women Pull Away From William Peace

Mya Johnson scored 17 points and pulled in 9 rebounds to lead Pfeiffer to a conference win over William Peace, 71 to 63 Tuesday night in Merner Gymnasium.
Freshmen guard
Tanaeshea Ellison added 12 points and 4 steals, three of which came in the 4
th quarter, to help the Falcons (7-11, 3-7 USA South) pull away from a back-and-forth game that featured 11 lead changes and 10 ties. Sharpshooting freshman Kennadie Huddler added 11 points, notching her sixth double-figure game of the season.
Stephanie Chandler led the Pacers (3-12, 2-7 USA South) with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Pamela Mock added 17 points and 7 rebounds. William Peace took the lead 59-58 after a jumper by Kiera Williams with 2:38 left in the game. Pfeiffer freshman
Alexis Bynum scored 5 of her 9 points, including two crucial free throws with 1:43 left to give the Falcons the lead for good.
On the night the Pacers scored 46 points in the paint. Pfeiffer shot 21 for 28 at the free throw line and scored 25 points on fast breaks. The Falcons also outrebounded the Pacers 54 to 50, pulling in 16 offensive rebounds that lead to 9 second chance points.
Pfeiffer's full court pressure caused the Pacers trouble all night forcing 21 turnovers that led to 16 points off of the turnovers.
The Women's basketball team will return to action Wednesday night as they head to Raleigh, to complete the home and home series with William Peace. Tip-off will be 6:00 PM.
