Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Snaps Skid With 3-1 Home Win Over Meredith
Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 19, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team snapped an eight-match winless skid with a 3-1 USA South win over Meredith College on a frigid evening at Lefko Field on Wednesday night.

The Falcons scored what is likely  the fastest goal in program history when freshman
Tori Renna (Wake Forest, N.C.) provided a finisher at a sharp angle that beat the Angel goalkeeper just 20 seconds into the match.
Pfeiffer then went up 2-0 when
Kelsy Esquivel (Charlotte, N.C.) cashed in from 15 yards for her second score of the season at 42:25, putting the Falcons up 2-0.
Renna added her second goal of the match just after halftime to put Pfeiffer up 3-0 at 47:06.
Meredith avoided the shutout, scoring in the 65
th minute to provide the eventual 3-1 final.
Falcon goalkeeper
Olivia Garver (Clover, S.C.) earned the win for Pfeiffer, making four saves on the night.

The Falcons will look to extend on their late season success when they travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday, Oct. 22 for a 2:00 p.m. match at Salem College.
