Men's Soccer Season Ends With 2-1 Defeat at Southern Virginia

Buena Vista, Va. (Oct. 29, 2022) – Southern Virginia University got a goal in the 84^th minute to take down Pfeiffer University in the final USA South men's soccer regular season match by the score of 2-1.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
In a match that would determine seeding for the upcoming USA South men's soccer tournament, Southern Virginia got on the board first in the 12^th minute when Ammon Lewis scored his second of the season on an assist from Calum Yule.

Pfeiffer drew even a little over five minutes later when freshman Luis Miranda (Wilmington, N.C.) scored his third goal of the season.

The 1-1 score would remain until 83:47 when SVU's Josh Dubinsky scored the game-winner on an assist from teammate Sam Melo.

Senior Nico Soriano (Concord, N.C.) had five shots on the match, with four other Falcon teammates logging two shots each. 

In goal, Pfeiffer sophomore Ali Jaafar (Matthews, N.C.) made three saves while his SVU counterpart, Spencer Young also making three stops.
