Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Falls on Senior Day to Methodist

Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2022) – Visiting Methodist University spoiled Pfeiffer's Senior Day with a 2-1 USA South women's soccer win in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at Lefko Field

After battling to a scoreless tie in the first half, Methodist got on the board first at 62:18 when Natalia Marshall-Hewett scored her fourth of the season after getting a pass from Amanda DeDomenico.  The Methodist goal, was scored in traffic and beat Pfeiffer freshman goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis (Morganton, N.C.) to her left, making it 1-0.

Pfeiffer responded eight minutes later when Sydney Siders (Jackson, Mich.) scored the first goal of her collegiate career after taking a pass from freshman Yailine Reira (Charlotte, N.C.) and slotting it past Methodist keeper Kaylea Carter.

The Monarchs would get the game-winner at 77:09 when Corrine Shovlain got her eighth of the season to provide the eventual 2-1 final.
