Pfeiffer Women's Basketball Blows Out Agnes Scott 78-49
Decatur, Ga. (Nov. 12, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's basketball team had no trouble with host Agnes Scott in a 78-49 blowout win in Decatur, Ga. On Saturday afternoon.
Pfeiffer (1-1) forced 26 turnovers and converted the Scottie miscues into 31 points. Pfeiffer also dominated the inside game, scoring 44 points in the paint and added 20 points on fast break opportunities.
Despite trailing 27-26 after the first quarter, Pfeiffer held the 35-32 lead at the break and then outscored ASC 23-13 in the third quarter and then allowed just three points in the fourth quarter to take the convincing win.
Tanaesha Ellison (Asheboro, N.C.) led four Falcon players in double-figures, as she had 16 points. Teammate
Jahlea Peters (Hickory, N.C.) scored 13 while a pair of freshmen in
Hannah Isley (China Grove, N.C.) and
Miyah Horton (Lenoir, N.C.) had 11 points each. Isley also added six rebounds in the win with
Shania Haynes (Charlotte, N.C.) managing a team-best eight rebounds on the afternoon.
Pfeiffer evens it's record to 1-1 on the season and will turn the focus to hosting their first home game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Tipoff against Bob Jones University is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Merner Gym.
