Pfeiffer Men Take Road Win at William Peace 93-76
Raleigh, N.C. (February 1, 2022) – The Pfeiffer men's basketball team won their second straight USA South conference game Tuesday night against William Peace, 93-76.
Sophomore forward,
Dorian Miles would go perfect on the night from the 3-point arc, shooting 4-4 on the way to dropping 22 points. Miles would also grab 6 rebounds and dish off 2 assists in 18 minutes of action.
Freshman guard
Daymon Beckwith exploded for a career high 14 points on the night. Beckwith would match Miles hitting 4 shots from the 3-point arc. Beckwith came into the game averaging 2.5 points per game.
Two other Falcons (7-7, 4-2 USA South) would reach double figures on the night as
Taylan Rowe and
Daniel Fulp both added 11 points.
For the Pacers (5-12, 2-5 USA South) Donolly Tyrell Jr. would score 13 points to lead the team in scoring. Michael Dulin and Beau Bryant would each add 11 points to join Tyrell Jr. in double figures.
In the first half Pfeiffer would find themselves tied 6-6 after the first media timeout. The Falcons would go on a 15-0 run over the next 5 minutes to take a commanding lead. From there Pfeiffer would push the lead to 31 points before settling on a 26-point halftime lead. Pfeiffer would shoot 68% from the field, and 62% from the 3-point line in the first half.
The Falcons would continue to hold the Pacers at bay in the second half before settling for the 17-point victory.
For the night, Pfeiffer would out rebound William Peace 42-24. Pfeiffer's bench also outscored the Pacers' bench 45-33.
The Pfeiffer men will return to action Saturday, February 5
th, as they travel to Rocky Mount, N.C. for a pivotal conference matchup against North Carolina Wesleyan. The game is set to tip at 2 p.m.
