Falcons Storm Past Mary Baldwin 108-90 in Regular Season Finals

Staunton, Va. (Feb. 19, 2022) – Pfeiffer University had two players score career highs in a 108-90 USA South men's basketball road win at Mary Baldwin on Saturday afternoon.

Falcon senior Taylan Rowe (Oakboro, N.C.) hit five three-pointers on his way to a career-high 29 points.  Rowe shot 11-of-16 from the field and 5-of-8 from long range on the afternoon.  Sophomore Elan Muniz (King, N.C.) matched Rowe's output from long range, hitting a career-best five from distance on the way to scoring his career-best of 21 points.  Muniz was 7-of-9 on the afternoon from the field.

Seniors D.J. Bradsher (Burlington, N.C.) and Sean Scott (Waldorf, Md.) also scored in double-figures, with Bradsher hitting 11 points while grabbing five rebounds and Scott had 10 points on the afternoon.

Sophomore Dorian Miles (Greenville, S.C.) pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds to go along with his nine points.

Pfeiffer was able to build a 29-19 lead following a Bradsher three-pointer at 13:06 in the first half.  MBU did close to within 34-33 with 5:21 left, but Pfeiffer methodically extended the lead 52-34 with an 18-1 run that was capped by a Muniz basket at 1:28 before halftime.

After leading 54-39 at halftime, Pfeiffer pushed the lead to 69-48 with 15:42 left on a Rowe three-pointer.  MBU would never get the Falcon lead to below 12 points the rest of the way, with Pfeiffer cruising to the 108-90 season finale road win.

The win improved Pfeiffer to 12-10 overall while finishing USA South play with a 9-5 tally.

Pfeiffer has qualified as the No. 3 seed from the East Division in the upcoming USA South Tournament and will travel to take on East Division No. 2 see N.C. Wesleyan on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Tipoff from Rocky Mount, N.C. has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
