Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Overwhelms Oglethorpe, 10-3
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 26, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team overwhelmed visiting Oglethorpe University in a nonconference game under the lights on a cool and damp evening at Lefko Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons and Stormy Petrals traded goals in the beginning to knot the game at 1-1. Pfeiffer then scored on a man-up opportunity, getting a goal from
Quinn Becraft (Huntersville, N.C.) at the 5:49 mark of the first quarter to make it 2-1, a lead Pfeiffer took into the second quarter.
In The second quarter, Pfeiffer started to roll, scoring five goals, three of which were man-up goals.Â
Tyler Ajemian (Fort Mill, S.C.), Becraft, and
Colin Thornton (Graffton, Mass.) each scored in the quarter, with Thornton scoring twice. The outburst put Pfeiffer ahead 7-1 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Becraft scored a pair of unassisted goals, with
Jacob Leone (Raleigh, N.C.) scoring one to put Pfeiffer up 10-1.
Oglethorpe was able to score twice in the late stages of the third quarter to make it 10-3, the eventual final, as nether team scored in the fourth quarter.

Becraft led Pfeiffer with four goals and an assist, while Ajemian had three goals. Thornton had a pair of assists to go along with his two goals andÂ
Aiden Keenan (Erie, Pa.) finished with an assist.
Defensively, the Falcons got eight caused turnovers and six ground balls from
Spencer Stokes (Apex, N.C.) while
Mike Turner (Columbia, Md.) had eight ground balls. Faceoff specialist
Tucker Hill (Victor, N.Y.) went 14-of-15 in the circle and also had seven ground balls.Â

Jordan Fitzpatrick (Chapel Hill, N.C.) also had a solid outing in scooping up six ground balls and causing a pair of turnovers.

Matt Stocks (Endwell, N.Y.) earned the win by making four saves on the night.

Pfeiffer will hit the road for their first road game of the season when they travel to Banner Elk, N.C. to take on the Division II Bobcats of Lee-McRae. Faceoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on March 2.
