Methodist Downs Pfeiffer Women's Tennis
MIsenheimer, N.C. (March 31, 2022) – Visiting Methodist University took a 9-0 women's tennis win over Pfeiffer University on Wednesday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center in Misenheimer.

THE BASICS
Methodist took all three doubles matches and also swept the six singles matches to take the 9-0 win.
At No. 3 singles, Pfeiffer's
Darby Sherrill (Hiddenite, N.C.) had a competitive match with the Monarchs' Jull Lawrence, but fell by a 6-1, 6-2 score. In doubles, Sherrill teamed with freshman
Brittany Mills (Lillington, N.C.) at No. 3 but fell by an 8-4 score in the most competitive doubles match of the afternoon.
The duo of freshman
Megan Rekieta (Lubbock, Texas) and senior
Sydney Gray (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.) dropped their No. 1 double match by an 8-3 count.
Rekeita and Gray also dropped their singles matches at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, with Rekieta falling in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) and Gray falling 6-1, 6-0.
Freshman
Alison Sloop (Rockwell, N.C.) and sophomore
Elithe Hudson (Albemarle, N.C.) also dropped their matches at No. 5 and No. 6 by identical 6-1, 6-1 scores.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will continue USA South play with a pair of matches this upcoming weekend. Pfeiffer will take on Meredith College on Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 p.m. and will follow that with a 2:00 p.m. match on Sunday, April 3 against Mary Baldwin.
