Greensboro, N.C. (March 5, 2022) – After spotting Guilford College a 2-1 lead, Pfeiffer University scored seven unanswered goals and was never threatened again in a 15-6 nonconference men's lacrosse win on Appenzeller Field at the Armfield Athletic Center in Greensboro on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 2-1, Pfeiffer reeled off seven straight goals to take the 8-2 lead.  During the run, Pfeiffer got three goals from Treven King and a pair from Nick Pekins.  Quinn Becraft had a goal while Brayden Sokolowski scored a man-up goal during the span.

Guilford scored at 2:04 before halftime to provide the 8-3 margin at the break.

Pfeiffer then went on another run, this time another seven-goal streak while holding the Quakers scoreless in the third quarter, leading 15-3.  Guilford did manage three goals in the fourth quarter to provide the 15-6 final.

Inside the Box Score
Treven King led the way for Pfeiffer by scoring four goals while Becraft had three markers and an assist.  Sokolowski also had three goals in the win while Pekins had a pair of goals.  Also scoring for Pfeiffer were Peter Donahue, Mason Tardiff and Colin Thornton.

Defensively, Pfeiffer's Jordan Fitzpatrick had three caused turnovers and four ground balls.  Tardiff also added four ground balls in the win.

Faceoff specialist Tucker Hill had 10 ground balls on the day, going a perfect 18-of-18 in faceoff opportunities.

Falcon goalkeeper Matt Stocks made six saves while earning the win.  Fellow goalkeeper Jason Rowland also made a pair of saves for Pfeiffer in second half play.

Pfeiffer will return to Lefko Field for a 1:00 p.m. nonconference game on Saturday, March 12 against Marietta College.
