Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Grinds Out 11-9 Win Over Greensboro
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 10, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team grinded out a close 11-9 USA South men's lacrosse win on Saturday afternoon over rival Greensboro College at Lefko Field

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 3-1 lead over Greensboro on a pair of goals from senior
Treven King and one from
Brayden Sokolowski. King also assisted on Sokolowski's goal at 1:36 of the first quarter.
Greensboro then went on a five-goal run, taking the 6-3 lead capped by a goal from Aaron Larios-Neubert at 6:57 of the second quarter.
Pfeiffer responded with two goals to close the quarter, both from Sokolowski, which pulled the Falcons to within 6-5, which was the halftime margin.
Pfeiffer took the lead early in the third quarter with a pair of goals, another from King and
Tyler Ajemian at the 13:26 mark, putting Pfeiffer ahead once more at 7-6.
After the Pride tied the game at 7-7 on another Larios-Neubert tally, Pfeiffer rallied again, this time with a four goal run that brought Pfeiffer to the 11-7 lead with 9:30 remaining.
Greensboro mounted another comeback, scoring at 5:30 and 3:10, but the Falcons were able to shut Greensboro down in the final stages in taking the 11-9 win.
Inside the Box Score
Treven King led all scorers with five goals and had on assist on the afternoon. He also managed a ground ball in the win. Sokolowski had three goals and a ground ball while Ajemian finished with two goals and a caused turnover.
Jacob Leone added a pair of assists and a goal in the win and also had a pair of ground balls.
Pfeiffer faceoff specialist
Tucker Hill continued his mastery of the circle, as he went 21-of-24 on faceoffs and had a game-best 15 ground balls.
Hill currently is the NCAA Division III leader in faceoff percentage (.816) and ranks third in ground balls per game (11.22)
