How it Happened
Trailing 3-0 heading to the third inning, Pfeiffer battled back to take the 4-3 lead after plating four runs in the frame.  The Falcons got things started when Cory Lackey doubled down the left field line that scored Blake Winebarger.  A sacrifice fly from Zach Ferrell would pull Pfeiffer to within 3-2.  Bryce Marsh then hit his second home run of the season, a two-run shot, that put Pfeiffer up 4-3.

The Marlins would then tie thigs up in the fourth, but Pfeiffer regained the lead in the fifth after Alec Bell was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, putting the Falcons up 5-4.  A Jackson Leck sacrifice fly would push the Falcon lead to 6-4.

In the sixth inning, with the bases loaded, Bell drew a walk that made it 7-4.  A two-RBI from Leck would give Pfeiffer the 9-4 lead.

VWU responded in the home half of the sixth, as they scored four in the frame to cut the Pfeiffer lead to 9-8.

A Jake Brown groundout in the seventh helped the Falcons manufacture a run to go up 10-8.

VWU would push ahead in the seventh inning after getting a two-RBI triple followed by an RBI single that gave the Marlins the 11-10 lead.  A steal of home would push their lead to 12-10.

Pfeiffer scored one in the ninth on yet another bases loaded walk, but it would be as close as the Falcons would get, falling 12-11.
