Falcon Baseball Splits Doubleheader at William Peace
Cary, N.C. (April 15, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University baseball team split a pair of USA South games at William Peace University, winning game one 5-3 and falling in game two by a 16-9 score.

How it Happened – Game 1
Pfeiffer pitcher
John Owen pitched seven strong innings, allowing just two runs on four hits while stirking out 10 WPU batters in earning his third win of the season.Â
Dakota Caughey finished the game for Pfeiffer, in earning his second save of the season while pitching one inning while striking out one batter and allowing just a pair of WPU hits.
Offensively,
Jake Brown finished 1-of-4 with two RBI while
Alec Bell remained hot, going 3-of-4 with a double and an RBI.Â
Jackson Leck and
Landon Evans also had RBI for Pfeiffer in the win.
How it Happened – Game 2
WPU scored eight runs in the second inning to jump to an 8-2 lead and never trailed again in taking the 16-9 win.
Pfeiffer did cut the lead to just one run (10-9) in the seventh inning when
Landon Evans drew a bases-loaded walk.
WPU would then scored four more runs in their half of the seventh inning to push their lead to 14-9.   Two more Pacer runs crosse the plate in the eighth inning to provide the 16-9 win for WPU.
