Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Opens USA South Tournament With 5-0 Win Over Meredith
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 25, 2022) – Fourth-seeded Pfeiffer University downed fifth-seeded Meredith College, 5-0 in the opening round of the USA South Women's Tennis Tournament on Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
The Falcons took all three doubles matched with relative ease, with the No. 1 tandem of
Megan Rekieta and
Sydney Gray winning 8-1.
The No. 2 match was secured by the team of
Darby Sherrill and
Brittany Mills by an 8-3 score, as was the No. 3 match, with
Elithe Hudson and
Alison Sloop also winning 8-3.
In singles play, Hudson won her match at No. 6 by sweeping Meredith's Ryann Jennings by a 6-0, 6-0 score.
Pfeiffer clinched the match when freshman
Brittany Mills took her singles match at No. 4 over Claire Southern by a 6-1, 6-0 score.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will advance to take on Piedmont University, the top seed from the USA South West Division on Thursday, April 28 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.
