Pfeiffer also had a big second inning, which was started off when Cory Lackey reached on a fielder's choice, that scored Jacob Williamson from third, making it 2-0.

Ferrell then belted a three-run homer to center field, his second of the game to push the Falcon lead to 5-0.  Bryce Marsh singled in a run to go up 6-0 and Alec Bell made it 7-0 Falcons when he laced a double to right center field.

Lynchburg was able to cut the Falcon lead to 7-4 after scoring on a fielder's choice and a three-run home run from Avery Neaves.

Another Hornet blast in the fifth, a grand slam, allowed the visitors to take the 8-7 lead.  Another run for the visitors in the sixth inning pushed the lead to 9-7 and in the eighth, two more Lynchburg home runs, a solo shot and a two-run shot made it 12-7.

In the ninth, Lynchburg was the beneficiary of a Pfeiffer error that made it 13-7.  Following the error Neaves hit his second homer of the game, this one a three-run shot to provide the eventual 16-7 final.
