Volleyball Falls to William Peace, 3-0

MIsenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 27, 2022) – Visiting William Peace University took a 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-15) win over Pfeiffer University in a USA South volleyball match in Merner Gym on Tuesday night.

Pfeiffer's senior due of Madison Honeycutt (Arroyo Grande, Cal.) and Mattie Hinson (Norwood, N.C.) each had six kills while teammates Mattie Burris (Misenheimer, N.C.) and Madison Tate (Lexington, N.C.) had four a piece to lead the Pfeiffer attack.  Visiting WPU got 15 kills from Shelby Cooper and 10 from Georgia Grace Anderson.

As a team, WPU huit for a .340 percentage compared to just .155 for the Falcons.

Defensively, Pfeiffer freshman libero Gabby Edwards (Catawba, N.C.) managed 10 digs.

Setter's Kylee Mayberry (Harmony, N.C.) and Kira Suttles (Morganton, N.C.) managed 12 and 10 assists, respectively.

Up Next
Pfeiffer will take to the road for a nonconference match at Bob Jones, on Thursday, Sept. 29 before traveling for a pair of USA South matches this upcoming weekend.  The Falcons will tangle with Mary Baldwin at Noon on Saturday, Oct. 1 and will follow with a 4:00 p.m. matchup with the host Southern Virginia Knights in Buena Vista, Va.
