Pfeiffer Men's Soccer Falls Short at Lynchburg
Lynchburg, Va. (Sept 4, 2021) – Lynchburg scored one minute into the match and never looked back in taking a 5-1 men's soccer win over Pfeiffer University on Sunday in Lynchburg, Va.

How It Happened
Lynchburg wasted little time, as they scored one minute into the match on a header from Zach Whelan off a corner kick from Kenny Robles. The Hornet lead grew to 2-0 when Robles scored at 7:45, also on a header after a throw in.
After enjoying the 2-0 halftime lead, Lynchburg scored once more after a throw in, this time with a Luke Mega goal. Carter Averett scored after hitting the post in the 54
th minute to make it 4-0 and Mega added another in the 61
st minute to make it 5-0.
Pfeiffer's
Sam Stewart (Belhaven, N.C.) broke the shutout in the 64
th minute after converting a penalty kick, providing the eventual 5-1 final.
