Ellison and Isley Secure Double-Doubles in Road Win at Salem
Winston-Salem N.C. (Jan. 21, 2023) – A pair of Falcons recorded double-double performances as the Pfeiffer women's basketball team took a 69-56 USA South win over Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday afternoon.
Pfeiffer had a trio of players finish in double-figures as the sophomore duo of
Alexis Bynum (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Tanaesha Ellison (Asheboro, N.C.) each had 21 points. Ellison also brought down 11 rebounds to post her first career double-double. Ellison also had three assist and a pair of steals. Bynum also had three steals and three assists in the win.
Freshman
Hannah Isley (China Grove, N.C.) brought down 11 rebounds to go along with her 13 points, good for her second straight double-double and the third of her career.
The win improves Pfeiffer to 4-12 on the season and 2-8 in USA South play while Salem drops to 1-16 overall and 0-10 in league games.
Pfeiffer will return to play on Saturday, Jan. 28 with a road USA South game at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C.
