Five In Double Figures as Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Downs Brevard, 87-78
MIsenheimer, N.C. (Jan. 24, 2023) – Pfeiffer University had five players score in double-figures in an 87-78 home USA South win over Brevard College on Tuesday night at Merner Gym.
The win over Brevard is the seventh straight in the series for Pfeiffer which dates back to 2014. IN that span, Pfeiffer is 4-0 in games played in The Village of Misenheimer.
Graduate student
Taylan Rowe (Oakboro, N.C.) and sophomore
Daniel Fulp (Winston-Salem ,N.C.) led the way for Pfeiffer with each scoring 16 points. Rowe managed to hit three from long range while Fulp finished 8-of-9 from the field. Fulp also brought down seven rebounds as did sophomore teammate
M.J. Armstrong (Gastonia, N.C.). Armstrong finished the game with 13 points.
Freshman
Donte Forrester-Jhagroo (Tampa, Fla.) scored his career high with 11 points, hitting a pair of three-pointers.Â
Daymon Beckwith (Jacksonville, N.C.) rounded out the double digit performers for Pfeiffer, as he had 10 points.
As a team, Pfeiffer was 48.4% from the field, going 31-of-64 while the visiting Tornados shot a comparable 47.9% (32-of-67).
The Falcons improve to 7-9 overall and 3-3 in USA South play while Brevard drops to 6-13 and 2-6 in conference games.
Pfeiffer will return to play on Thursday, Jan. 26 with a nonconference road game at Mary Washington.
