Pfeiffer Gets 96-66 Home Win Over Mid-Atlantic Christian

Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Takes 96-66 Home Win Over Mid-Atlantic Christian

Misenheimer, N.C. (Jan. 5, 2023) – Pfeiffer University had little trouble with visiting Mid-Atlantic Christian University in a 96-66 men's basketball rout of the Mustangs at Merner Gym on Thursday evening.

Pfeiffer started strong in building a 21-6 lead at the 14:22 mark of the first half following a driving layup from Daniel Fulp (Winston-Salem, N.C.)

MACU was able to trim Pfeiffer's lead to eight points (36-28) with 1:50 before halftime, but the Falcons responded in taking the 41-32 halftime lead.

IN the second half, MACU got to within 50-44 at 14:43, but that's the closest the Mustangs would get, as Pfeiffer pulled away for the easy 96-66 win.
Pfeiffer had three players score in double figures, with Daymon Beckwith (Jacksonville, N.C.) leading the way with 20 points.  Beckwith connected for four from long range and finished 6-of-11 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

Fulp was a perfect 8-of-8 from the field in coring 17 points while teammate M.J. Armstrong (Gastonia, N.C.) was 6-of-7  from the field in finishing with 12 points.

As a team, Pfeiffer shot 54.9% (39-of-71) from the field and was 7-of-21 from three-point range.  Pfeiffer's defense forced 15 Mustang turnovers and converted those miscues into 18 points.

MACU who fell to 2-7 on the season, was led by Noah Richardson-Keys' 18 points.

The win puts a halt to a five-game skid for the Falcons while improved their overall record to 3-6 overall.

The Falcons will jump into USA South play in the next game, traveling to Rocky Mount, N.C. to take on N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Jan. 7.  Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
