Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2023) -- The Pfeiffer University men's soccer team notched a 3-2 win against Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field.
The win improves the Falcons to to 5-6-1 overall and 1-3-0 in USA South play following the win while Greensboro stays winless at 0-12 and 0-4 in league play.
The win over Greensboro marks the second straight win for Pfeiffer over the Pride in games played in Misenheimer.
How it Happened
Pfeiffer grabbed the 1-0 lead when senior Diego Moran scored his fourth goal of the season in the second minute.
The Pride knotted the match at 1-1 on a goal from Jalen King in the seventh minute.
Pfeiffer then went ahead 2-1 on Benjamin Landaverde's first collegiate goal, than came in the 67th-minute.
The Pride again tied it up at 2-2 with a 70th-minute goal from Kenneth Hall, assisted by Juan Ramirez.
Pfeiffer busted up the 2-2 draw on Asuncio Gonzalez's fifth goal of the season in the 87th minute, assisted by Landaverde.
Junior goalkeeper Ali Jaafar managed three saves while seeing five shots on the afternoon.
