Pfeiffer Volleyball Comes Up Short at Bob Jones

Greenville, S.C. (Oct.19) --The Pfeiffer University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 nonconference road match at Bob Jones University on Thursday evening in straight sets (14-25, 19-25, 21-25).

The non-conference loss dropped Pfeiffer to 7-14 on the season.

Mattie Hinson finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Falcons attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .529. got 9 digs from Kylee Mayberry to lead them defensively.

Game Notes
» Senior Mattie Hinson had a team-high 11 kills for Pfeiffer.
» Pfeiffer got a team-high nine digs from junior Kylee Mayberry.
» Pfeiffer attackers were helped by a team-high 10 assists from freshman Karmen Rion.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-14. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 12 points as Bob Jones never surrendered the lead in a set that was notted up just once before the Bruins took control.

SET 2 | Pfeiffer dropped set two 25-19, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as six points as Bob Jones grabbed the advantage for good at 19-18 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Bruins took over in the second half of the stanza.

SET 3 | Pfeiffer was not able to win the third set and was swept by Bob Jones. The Falcons came up short by the score of 25-21. Bob Jones grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up two times before the Bruins took over in the second half of the stanza.
