Greensboro, N.C. (Nov. 14, 2023) --The Pfeiffer women's basketball team kept UNC Greensboro to just 17.6 percent from beyond the arc in a 3-for-17 shooting performance, but fell 93-25 to the Spartans in an exhibition game on the road Tuesday.
Alexis Bynum led the Falcons (1-1) with four points and five assists. Mara Ochoa-Contreras also added five points and Angel Roland helped out with four points from the bench.
Pfeiffer's defense held UNC Greensboro to only 17.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
How It Happened
Pfeiffer struggled out of the gate, falling behind 25-10 at the end of the first quarter.
The Falcons continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 50-20 halftime deficit.
Pfeiffer's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Falcons faced a 78-21 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Pfeiffer's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled one of the team's one third-quarter points.
The Falcons could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 93-25. Pfeiffer fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down one shot to account for three of its four points.
