Women's Basketball Drops Conference Game at Methodist

Fayetteville, N.C. (Nov. 21) --The Pfeiffer women's basketball team fell short in a 65-56 loss to the Methodist Monarchs on the road Tuesday.

The Falcons (2-2, 1-1 USA South) had a pair of players score in double figures, led by junior Alexis Bynum, who had 19 points. Sophomore teammate Hannah Isley added 14 points.

Led by Mackenzie Sand-Odom's four offensive rebounds, Pfeiffer crashed the offensive glass, pulling down 12 boards that resulted in nine second chance points.

Pfeiffer forced 17 Methodist turnovers, turning those takeaways into 25 points on the other end of the floor. Isley's one steal led the way for Pfeiffer.

How It Happened

Pfeiffer struggled out of the gate, falling behind 16-11 at the end of the first quarter.

The Falcons continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 30-21 halftime deficit.

Methodist continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 42-31 advantage before Pfeiffer went on a 6-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Isley, to trim its deficit to 42-37 with 1:59 to go in the third. Methodist countered and stretched its lead to 43-37 heading into the fourth. Pfeiffer took advantage of eight Methodist turnovers in the quarter, scoring six points off of takeaways.

Pfeiffer could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 65-56.
