High Point, N.C. (Nov. 4, 2023) --In spite of a 60 percent shooting performance from beyond the 3-point arc, the Pfeiffer men's basketball team fell to the High Point Panthers 113-90 at the Qubein Center in an exhibition game on Saturday night..
The Falcons had three players score in double figures, led by Daymon Beckwith, who had 18 points. Justin Gaten added 12 points and five assists and Clayton Robinson chipped in as well with 11 points.
How It Happened
After falling behind 6-4, Pfeiffer went on a 9-0 run with 17:48 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Beckwith, to take a 13-6 lead. The Falcons then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 56-49.
High Point kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 111-85 advantage before Pfeiffer went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Kenede Marion's three, to shrink the deficit to 111-90 with 48 seconds to go in the contest. High Point responded and outscored the Falcons the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 113-90. Pfeiffer got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 22 of its 41 total points.
