Charleston, S.C. (Nov. 6, 2023) --The Pfeiffer University women's basketball team could not keep up in a 117-30 exhibition loss to the College of Charleston Cougars on the road Monday.
Sophomore Hannah Isley and freshman Mackenzie Sand-Odom led the Falcons with eight points. Freshman Peyton McPeters added two points and seven rebounds while junior Kenadie Hudler helped out with four points.
How It Happened
Pfeiffer struggled out of the gate, falling behind 34-4 at the end of the first quarter.
The Falcons continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 68-13 halftime deficit.
Pfeiffer's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Falcons faced a 90-18 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Pfeiffer turned two offensive rebounds into one second chance points on the way to scoring five total points in the quarter.
Pfeiffer could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 117-30. Pfeiffer fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down two shots to account for six of its 12 points.
