Greensboro, N.C. (Dec. 15, 2023) --The Pfeiffer women's basketball tscored 26-points off the bench, but fell 80-54 to the Guilford Quakers on the road Friday at Ragan-Brown Fieldhouse.
Sophomore Hannah Isley led the Falcons (2-7) with eight points and three steals while freshman Lola Cabiness-Ali tacked on six points, six rebounds and two steals. Junior Alexis Bynum chipped in nine points and three steals in the losing effort for the Falcons.
Angel Roland pulled down three offensive rebounds to pace an offense that racked up 20 boards and turning them into eight second chance points.
Pfeiffer would force 23 Guilford turnovers, turning those takeaways into five points on the other end of the floor.Â
How It Happened
Pfeiffer struggled out of the gate, falling behind 27-10 at the end of the first quarter.
The Falcons fought back in the second period, narrowing the deficit to 39-23 by the time halftime rolled around.
Guilford continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 51-28 advantage before Pfeiffer went on a 5-0 run to trim its deficit to 51-33 with 2:31 to go in the third. Guilford countered and stretched its lead to 55-33 heading into the fourth. Pfeiffer scored two fast break points in the quarter.
Guilford kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 76-44 advantage before Pfeiffer went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Cedaria Little's three, to shrink the deficit to 76-50 with 45 seconds to go in the contest. The Falcons were unable to cut further into the deficit by the end of the game, losing 80-54. Pfeiffer fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down three shots to account for nine of its 21 points.
