Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Opens Spring Season With Sweep of Agnes Scott
Decatur, Ga. (Feb. 20, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team opened the 2023 spring season with a 9-0 sweep of Agnes Scott on Sunday afternoon at the Byers Tennis Courts in Decatur, Ga.

RECORDS
Pfeiffer – 3-0
Agnes Scott – 0-1

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer had no trouble in the doubles matches, claiming all three points.  The Falcon duo of Megan Rekieta (Lubbock, Texas) and Alison Sloop (Rockwell, N.C.) claimed an 8-0 win at No. 1 while senior Elithe Hudson (Albemarle, N.C.) and freshman Riley Isley (China Grove, N.C.) won 8-1 at No. 2.

The No. 3 team of Delaney Geygan (Waxhaw, N.C.) and Emily Moore (Denton, N.C.) won their match 8-5.

In singles play, Hudson easily won her match at No. 3  by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Sloop would solidify the Falcon win, when she took her No. 4 singles match by a 6-1, 6-1 final.

Rekieta then easily won her No. 1 match by a 6-1, 6-0 could while Isley won her singles match at No. 2 by a 6-1, 6-2 score.

Geygan followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 and Moore enabled the clean sweep by winning 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 at No. 6.

BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will return to the Knapp Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 24 with a home match against Johnson & Wales University at 2:00 p.m.
