Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past Virginia Wesleyan, 22-9
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 15, 2023) – The Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten after throttling visiting Virginia Wesleyan in the second half in a 22-9 nonconference win at a sunny and cool Lefko Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After leading 8-6 at halftime, Pfeiffer exploded for 10 goals in the third quarter while keeping the Marlins scoreless in building a commanding 18-6 lead.
Pfeiffer also outscored VWU 4-3 in the final frame to take the 22-9 win.
Pfeiffer's
Quinn Becraft (Huntersville, N.C.) and
Zach DeFazio (Mooresville, N.C.) each scored five goals and had a pair of assists each in the win.
Teammates
Jesse Ondrako (New Hartford, N.Y.) Â and
J.P. Galloway (Frederick, Md.) scored three goals each while Galloway added five assists. Junior
Tyler Finley (Stedman, N.C.) had a pair of goals and one assist, while
Joey Ondrako (New Hartford, N.Y.) Matt Scriven (Fort Mill, S.C.), Jared Butler (Vestal, N.Y.) and
Max Kelley (Dracut, Mass.) each had one goal to round out the Falcon scoring.
Pfeiffer face off specialist
Tucker Hill (Victor, N.Y. )won 15-of-25 face offs and collected a team-high 13 ground balls in the win.
Falcon goalkeeper
Nate Woodhill (Hewitt, Texas) had nine saves in the win while
Jason Rowland (Waldorf, Md.) made one stop in goal.
Inside the Box Score
The seventh straight win marks the best start in program history, eclipsing the 2009 team that started the season at 6-0.
The seven consecutive wins also stands at third all-time in program history, tied with the 2022 team that also reeled off seven straight.
Head coach
Tucker Nelson now stands at third in program history in head coaching wins with 33. He has a career head coaching record of 33-10 (.767).
