No. 12 Pfeiffer Softball Has No Trouble With Johnson C. Smith
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 21, 2023) – The 12
th ranked Pfeiffer University softball team had no trouble with Johnson C. Smith in a doubleheader sweep on Tuesday afternoon at Jack Ingram Field

How it Happened – Game 1
The visiting Golden Bulls jumped on top of the Falcons in the first inning plating a pair of runs on a two-RBI single from Moya Jones.
8The Falcons responded to cut the lead to 2-1 on an RBI single from
Gracie Griffin in the home half of the first. Pfeiffer then tacked on four runs in the second, followed by six runs in the third to go up 11-2.Â
Emma Bullin and
Kyndell Warren each doubled in a run during the scoring onslaught.Â
Abbie Yarboro also had an RBI double, with hers coming in the fourth inning.
Kenzi Lyall earned the pitching win for Pfeiffer, throwing three innings, allowing one hit, two runs while striking out three batters.
Game 2
Pfeiffer scored 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back in taking the 16-3 win over the Division II Golden Bulls
Ten Falcon players recorded a hit, with Lyall going 3-for-3 with three RBI. Warren,
Caiti Mickles, Griffin,
Emma Chopko,
Gretchen Wolpert and
Adison Campbell had two hits each for Pfeiffer, who pounded JCSU pitching for 18 hits in the game.
Kali Morton earned the pitching win, throwing two innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four JCSU batters.

Pfeiffer will begin USA South play this upcoming Saturday, March 25 with doubleheader against N.C. Wesleyan. First pitchn of the twin bill is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
