Birmingham-Southern Downs Pfeiffer Men's Tennis, 8-1

Misenheimer, N.C. (March 23, 2023) – Visiting Birmingham-Southern College took an 8-1 nonconference men's tennis win over Pfeiffer University on Thursday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center in Misenheimer, N.C.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer claimed just one match on the day, with the team of sophomore Andres Valdez-Arze (Bogota, Bolivia) and freshman Mateo Sonaglia (La Paz, Bolivia) winning 8-7 in their No. 3 doubles match.  The win moves the pair to 2-1 on the season in doubles matches.

The Panthers would win the Nos. 1 and 2 doubles matches and all six singles matches in straight sets to move to 10-2 overall while dropping Pfeiffer to 6-5 on the season.

BACK ON COURT
Pfeiffer will play on Wednesday, March 29 in a USA South match at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C.  First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
