How it Happened – Game 1
Pfeiffer sophomore Kenzi Lyall hit a leadoff home run and pitched a complete game gem, allowing just one hit while striking out six Methodist batters.

After Lyall's blast gave Pfeiffer the quick 1-0 lead, the Falcons erupted for four runs in the third inning on RBI singles from sophomore Gracie Griffin and graduate student Caiti Mickles.  Pfeiffer would also benefit from a Monarch error that allowed two more runs to score in the inning.

Three more runs crossed in the fourth inning.  A wild pitch allowed Kyndell Warren to trot home to make it 6-0 and  RBI singles from Taylor Parrish and Emma Bullin put Pfeiffer on top 8-0.

Lyall did the rest in the top of the fifth inning striking out the first two Monarch batters then forcing a groundout to end the game.

Game 2
Emma Chopko hit a three-run homer in the Falcon first inning to stake the 3-0 lead for Pfeiffer.  Gretchen Wolpert followed with an RBI single in the fourth inning to go up 4-0 and in the fifth, Jaci Cook supplied an RBI single to center field to make it 6-0.

An Abby Yarboro double in the sixth inning provided the eventual 7-0 final.

Pfeiffer pitcher Kali Morton was dominant on the afternoon, as she scattered four hits and fanned seven Monarch batters in the win.  Grad student Sadie Lee also pitched two innings without allowing a hit.
