Game 2 - #23 Pfeiffer def. Salem, 9-0 (5 innings)

Records
No. 23 Pfeiffer – 21-9, 9-1 USA South

How it Happened – Game 1
Pfeiffer sophomore pitcher Kenzi Lyall (Sparta, N.C.) struck out nine Salem batters and allowed just one hit in Pfeiffer's 6-0 win.

With Pfeiffer leading 4-0 in the fourth, the game was halted due to lightning in the area.  The delay would last over three and a half hours.

Once resumed, Pfeiffer added two more runs in the sixth inning with Adison Campbell scoring on a wild pitch followed by a Lyall RBI single.

Pfeiffer's Sadie Lee (Norwood, N.C.) pitched the final inning, allowing just one hit in the inning, sending Pfeiffer to the 6-0 marathon win.

Game 2
In game two, the Falcons wasted no time in putting up eight runs in the first inning.  Lyall scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch, then sophomore Emma Chopko (Mooresville, N.C.) belted a double to left center that allowed Kyndell Warren (Lenoir, N.C.) to score.

An RBI walk from Alexis Walter (Taylorsville, N.C.) made it 3-0 before Taylor Parrish drove in a pair on a single through the left side of the Salem defense.

Lyall then blasted a three run home run, her team-leading sixth of the season, putting Pfeiffer up 8-0.

Pitcher Kali Morton (Mooresville, N.C.) allowed a leadoff single, but was on cruise control the rest of the way, as she allowed just two hits on the day while striking out 10 Salem batters to improve her season record to 10-2.

Lee came in to finish the job in the fifth inning, striking out the first Spirit batter she faced, then forced a groundout for the second out.

Salem did get a single to put a runner on base with two outs, but Lee forced a groundout to third base to end the game.
