Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Comes Up Short in NCAA Tournament First Round
Danville, Ky. (May 10, 2023)– The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team was held scoreless in the fourth quarter and fell to host Centre College 11-9 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In a first quarter that could be characterized as a defensive battle, Pfeiffer carried the 3-2 lead into the second quarter after receiving goals from
Quinn Becraft (Huntersville, N.C.),
Mason Tardiff (Peterborough, Ontario) and Trevin King (Apex, N.C.). King's goal beat the first quarter buzzer, as he scored his unassisted goal with eight seconds remaining.
Pfeiffer would net the first goal of the second quarter, going up 4-2 when King found the net again on his second unassisted goal of the afternoon.
The two teams then alternated goals through the third quarter, with Centre narrowing the gap to 9-8 to start the fourth quarter.
The Colonels defense then held Pfeiffer scoreless in the fourth quarter to seal the 11-9 win to advance to the second round.
