Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Blows Out Methodist 23-3 in USA South Tournament Semifinal
Misenheimer, N.C. (May 5, 2023)– Top-seeded Pfeiffer University had no trouble with No. 5 Methodist University in a 23-3 blowout win in the semifinals of the USA South Men's Lacrosse Tournament at Lefko Field on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After giving up the first goal of the game, Pfeiffer exploded for 14 unanswered goals on the way to an easy 23-3 win over the visiting Monarchs.
Following a Methodist goal at 4:56 of the second quarter, Pfeiffer then went on another spurt, this time a seven goal outburst that made it 21-2. Methodist got their final score of the game at 14:23 of the fourth quarter. Pfeiffer senior
Peter Donahue scored the final two goals for Pfeiffer to provide the 23-3 final, sending the Falcons to their third-straight appearance in the USA South championship game

Zach DeFazio registered seven points on the afternoon, scoring six goals and adding one assist. Teammate J.P Galloway had four assists and a pair of goals in the win.  Pfeiffer had four other players score two goals each. All told, 13 Pfeiffer players scored in the semifinal win.

The top-seeded Falcons will take on No. 2 Southern Virginia for the USA South Championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night at Lefko Field in Misenheimer.
