Beckwith Scores 22 Points in Pfeiffer's 86-77 Setback at Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. (Jan. 23, 2024) --Junior Daymon Beckwith scored 22 points, but the Pfeiffer men's basketball team fell to the Brevard Tornados 86-77 on the road Tuesday in a USA South game.

The Falcons (6-6, 3-3) had four players score in double figures, led by Beckwith, who had 22 points. Daniel Fulp added 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals while Alex Cunningham chipped in as well with 13 points and six rebounds.

Fulp pulled down four offensive rebounds to lead the Pfeiffer offense which grabbed 10 boards and turned them into 15 second chance points.

How It Happened

Pfeiffer started out the scoring by going on a 6-0 run, culminating in a three from Ty Black, to take an early lead with 19:10 left in the first half. The Falcons then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 45-41 advantage. Pfeiffer got out and ran in the period, scoring 11 points on the break.

Brevard proceeded to take a 79-68 lead before Pfeiffer went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Beckwith's layup, to shrink the deficit to 79-74 with 2:34 to go in the contest. Brevard responded and outscored the Falcons the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 86-77. Pfeiffer took care of business in the paint, recording 24 of its 32 points in the lane.

» Pfeiffer cleaned up on the offensive glass, collecting 10 offensive boards in the game.
» Daymon Beckwith led the Falcons with 22 points.
» Pfeiffer got a game-high nine rebounds from both Daniel Fulp and Doug Smith.
