Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 16, 2024) --The Pfeiffer University volleyball team could not beat an opposing Pacers offense Wednesday at home falling to William Peace in three sets (10-25, 22-25, 28-30).
The loss dropped Pfeiffer's record to 4-15 overall and 1-9 in USA South play.
Junior Madison Tate finished with seven kills on the match to lead the Falcons attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .429. Pfeiffer got 9 digs from Karmen Rion to lead the team defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons found themselves in an early hole, losing a tough first set 25-10. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 15 points as William Peace never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Pacers took control.
SET 2 | Pfeiffer then dropped set two 25-22 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Falcons rallied from an eight-point 9-1 hole, but William Peace hung on to take the set.
SET 3 | Pfeiffer couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Falcons couldn't endure a ferocious William Peace rally, falling 30-28 after leading by eight points at 10-2 earlier in the set.

Pfeiffer will host a tri-match as part of the Falcon Homecoming festivities this upcoming Saturday, Oct. 19. The Falcons will take on Salem College in a USA South match at Noon and will finish the day with a nonconference match with Bob Jones at approximately 4:00 p.m.
