High Point, N.C. (Nov. 30, 2024) --The Pfeiffer University men's basketball team fell 81-50 to the High Point Panthers in an exhibition game on the road Saturday.
Junior Doug Smith and Justin Gaten each had led the Falcons with nine points, which Gaten's output coming from the bench.
How It Happened
Pfeiffer struggled out of the gate, falling behind 38-22 heading into halftime.
High Point kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 55-30 advantage before Pfeiffer went on a 7-0 run, finished off by an Andrew Peacock jumper, to shrink the deficit to 55-37 with 10:26 to go.
High Point responded and outscored the Falcons the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 81-50. Pfeiffer got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 19 of its 28 total points.
